Grassroots America Endorses Ken Cope for Congress in the Sixth District
ARLINGTON, February 5, 2018 – Ken Cope, Republican candidate for Congress in the Sixth District, has received the endorsement of Grassroots America – We the People, Inc., one of the largest constitutional conservative citizen organizations in Texas.
Grassroots America, which is networked with more than 300 conservative groups across the state and nation, is a non-partisan organization with a constitutional conservative focus, devoted to advancing the cause of liberty as rooted in limited government, personal responsibility, good citizenship, defense of traditional family values, and the free market system.
In the organization’s endorsement of Cope, it praised him as a “true conservative.”
“Grassroots America is right on target with that description,” said Cope. “They know that as a true conservative I will do what I say when elected, and represent the interests of the Sixth District – not the interests of the Washington lobbyists.”
Cope is a pro-life, Second Amendment-supporting Christian conservative who has promised, if elected, to limit himself to three terms. His platform includes improving our national defense, reducing the size of the federal government, eliminating the IRS, paying down the National Debt, eliminating Obamacare in favor of a market-based approach to healthcare insurance, and opposition to the Texas High-Speed Rail Bullet Train project and toll roads.
“Ken Cope is a true conservative and will never sell out the people of Texas to K Street and the D.C. cartel,” said JoAnn Fleming, Executive Director of Grassroots America. “Ken Cope for CD6 is our kind of constitutional conservative fighter! Right on illegal immigration and private property rights!”
Cope is a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel and retired aerospace executive who is seeking the Congressional seat being vacated by Joe Barton. Information about the campaign and Cope’s positions on other issues confronting the Sixth District can be found at the campaign website, www.CopeTexas.com, and the Facebook page, www.facebook.com/copetexas.
