First Service Credit Union Bringing Free Belgian Waffles to Katy April 18
HOUSTON, April 13, 2017 – First Service Credit Union is offering a delicious start to the day for people in Katy on Tuesday, April 18, giving out free waffles from The Waffle Bus at numerous stops throughout the city from 9 a.m. to noon.
The fun and tasty event is to make more people aware of First Service’s competitive products and services and the advantages of joining a credit union. The waffles are a fun way to challenge people to stop “waffling” and choose a financial institution that is focused on them rather than profits.
At each stop, Belgian waffles will be available with maple syrup and powdered sugar or with Nutella, bananas, and sweet cream.
The first stop for the waffle tour is 9 a.m. at First Service’s Katy branch, located at 23665 Katy Freeway. As the waffle tour moves to new locations, stops will be posted on First Service’s Facebook and Twitter accounts.
“Katy is a growing area that we serve, and we want to make more people aware of us and all the services that First Service Credit Union can offer to individuals here,” said Mike McWethy, Executive Vice President for First Service. “What better way to get someone’s attention and start a conversation than by giving out Belgian waffles?”
McWethy said the event will also emphasize the advantages of First Service Credit Union over a bank, such as lower rates for loans and lower fees for various products and services. He added that “Because we are a not-for-profit institution, we are free to focus on serving and delighting our members, rather than concentrating on shareholder demands.”
First Service is planning stops in and around Houston over the next several months and invites people to check out the credit union’s Facebook page or follow First Service on Twitter to find out when and where.
